Newsday 2008 in association with Learnnewsdesk from the Guardian will be held during the weeks of 28 Jan-1 Feb and 10-14 March. The 2008 event will be sponsored by AlphaSmart and Softease.

The two different weeks are to offer schools the chance to undertake the challenge at the time most convenient to them. All newspapers and websites will be judged together, with a single presentation.

(It is a one day event - but you can take part on any day - or have different teams entering on different days.)

There will be prizes for outstanding newspapers and websites, and for other categories such as use of a MFL, Podcasting and Blogging.

There are equal prizes for First Time Entrants in all categories.
