Tips on writing newspaper articles and features using the AlphaSmart Neo
Three ideas about page design (front page, inside page and sports (back) page), made in 'MSWord' and loaded here as PDF files. These are done in 9pt text to allow them to be enlarged on a photocopier or A3 printer. The front page styles used are:-
- Main text: Times New Roman, 9pt, Justified, 4 columns
- Captions: Times New Roman, 9pt, centred
- Headlines: Ariel
- By line: Goudy Old Style 12 pt, bold: centred: 'By' italic not bold, 10pt
- Page title: Times New Roman, 12pt, Paper name: date: dd:month(word):year : Page number ( Page XX)
A Record of Achievement Certificate is also available to download and edit to suit your needs - although this has been edited in OpenOffice it has been exported to 'MS Word 97/2000/etc.' format. Please contact us if your word processor can't read it.

Important Information
The 17th edition of Newsday hits the streets
with new innovations, while maintaining the best points of previous years...
We are making use of moderated forums on the website again this year, to
facilitate discussion about features as well as covering the usual 'help' and 'FAQ'
aspects.
Schools can produce either a newspaper and/or a news website and/or a podcast and/or a blog and /or a short report item for Learnnewsdesk. See features section.
The judges always enjoy good examples of school news and particularly
stories of what happened to the news teams on the actual day.
